    World Cup 2006 Final

I had an extremely awful day on the day of the world cup final.  I called Henry to tell him that I was going upstairs to his room to watch the final march between France and Italy.  “I am not home and I will not come back until this Friday” Said Henry.
So, I had to pry open his door like we did every time when we forgot our keys.  Henry has a technique in which he uses a piece of plastic cut from a Coke-Cola bottle to open the door.  He told me he learned it when he was little, because his Mom locked him in his room when he did something bad.  I didn’t have a Coke-Cola bottle, so I found a mineral water bottle instead.  Then, I went upstairs try to open it but I couldn’t, so I came back to my room, but I had forgotten to bring my key before I left my room!!!
So, I went downstairs to buy a Coke because I needed the bottle.  I poured the Coke from the bottle, used a pair of scissors to cut a piece of plastic.  Then, I went back to Henry’s room.  I tried to open the door for 15 minutes but I couldn’t get it to work.  I got frustrated, so I went back to my room and tried to open my door, but it didn’t work there either.
“I guess I can’t open it” I said to myself.  Then I went back downstairs to call the staff.  The maintenance man came over, and used his tools to open Henry’s door. I paid him 200 baht and got the extra copy of my key that I had put in Henry’s room for “just in case.”  The football match had already started 10 minutes ago, I had missed the first goal, but I could still enjoy the rest of the march.
After the first part of match was over, I kind of needed to go downstairs to get a phone charge card because I wanted to send a SMS message to my friend Pui, but I knew I didn’t have enough credits in my cell phone.  Then I shut the door, but immediately I realized I didn’t have the key to Henry’s room. “Damn it” I said. “how stupid I am”.  It was almost two O’clock in the morning, “I can’t call maintenance again, he’s already asleep” I said to myself.  “I guess I won’t be able to watch the rest of the soccer game” I thought.  I went to back to my room and lay down on the bed.  “This sucks! I have to try it again!!” I said.  I picked up the piece of plastic and went back upstairs, to try to open the door again.  Finally, I got the door opened but luckily for me the two teams were still tied, I would still have the chance to watch the overtime period.
As I expected, Italy won the game. So I decided it wasn’t such an awful day after all.
